It is still too early to judge the success of Secret Superstar. This one might be a lambi race ki ghodi. There are plenty of girls like Zaira's character...they will connect. Aaj nahi toh kal. The movie might become one of those cult films of Aamir...the ones that do good but not great business...they have a looong shelf life. I will still watch Aamir's QSQT or Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander or Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke or Lagaan and some I know swear by Andaz Apna Apna. Glad to know it has recovered it's cost. I hope everyone makes some money off of the film. I learnt that Aamir does not take any fees until the movie starts to make profit.

I still remember Lagaan vs Gadar. Gadar was the winner if I remember correctly. Lagaan did well too of course. Adarshji gave it a 2 star hahaha! Chalo...times have changed.

On a side not...in the 90s I used to cry so much out of frustration as an Aamir fan...ke kya yaar...itne ache ache films aa rahe hai Aamir ke...enuogh people not watching...na blockbusters...na awards...na appreciation from industry...ughhh...bahat frustration. nowadays when I see all the fawning from the industry...I am like uughhh stop fawning...makes me sick! 😆

Secret Superstar box office collection day 5: Starring Zaira Wasim in the lead role and Aamir Khan in an extended cameo, the film which released on Diwali (October 19) has recovered its production cost and earned a total of Rs 34.36 crore till Monday.

Secret Superstar box office collection day 5: The film is benefiting from a good word of mouth publicity.

Secret Superstar remains unstoppable despite a tough fight with Rohit Shetty's recent directorial Golmaal Again. Starring Dangal fame Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan in an extended cameo, Secret Superstar is doing wonders at the box office. The film has minted Rs 34.36 crore so far, thus recovering its cost of production and other expenses.

The film, which was made on a modest budget of Rs 15 crore including Cost of Production and Print and Publicity, has already recovered its money in its 4 day run at the box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, "#SecretSuperstar Thu 4.80 cr, Fri 9.30 cr, Sat 8.71 cr, Sun 8.50 cr, Mon 3.05 cr. Total: 34.36 cr. India biz. He further mentioned the overseas business of the film, "OVERSEAS Total till Monday, 23 October 2017: $ 3.1 million [ 20.22 cr].

Director Advait Chandan said, "I went to a theatre full of people and they clapped and laughed and were moved by the film. It gave me goosebumps this has been such a dream response!! I keep pinching myself to check if it's real.

The film that opened to rave reviews from film critics is garnering tremendous positive word of mouth from the audience across the globe.

Secret Superstar is based on a teenage girl named Insiya, played by Zaira Wasim, who sets out to follow her dream of being a singing superstar under the confinement of anonymity.

The film also showcases Aamir Khan in a quirky avatar as Shakti Kumaarr. In fact, his never seen before look has poured in immense response for the actor.

Produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Zee Studios, Secret Superstar is written and directed by Advait Chandan. The film that released this Diwali is running strong at the box office.

Secret Superstar First Tuesday Business

Secret Superstar continued with low collections on Tuesday as it collected 2.75 crore nett. The drop is 10% from the previous day but the film is running at low occupancy which does not go well for the second week. The total business of the film so far is 36.50 crore nett

The holiday continued in Gujarat yesterday but this film has only a limited benefit as collections are very bad in Gujarat. In fact the Gujarat collections of Golmaal Again are almost double of the whole Mumbai circuit collections of Secret Superstar and Mumbai along with Mysore is the best circuit for Secret Superstar. The first week collections should finish at 41 crore nett apprx. The collections of Secret Superstar till date are as follows.

Thursday - 4,75,00,000

Friday - 9,00,00,000

Saturday - 8,50,00,000

Sunday - 8,50,00,000

Monday - 3,00,00,000

Tuesday - 2,75,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 36,50,00,000 apprx

Secret Superstar is continuing with low collections on weekdays but collections are steady with 10% drops daily. It added another 2.50 crore nett on Wednesday taking its total to 39 crore nett and the week will finish 41 crore nett plus.

Despite the low steady collections the problem is the film has not gone on as a content film should on the weekdays. Its likely that the film will have the bulk of its collection on the opening weekend and that is not really the aim for these type of films. The collections of Secret Superstar till date are as follows.

Thursday - 4,75,00,000

Friday - 9,00,00,000

Saturday - 8,50,00,000

Sunday - 8,50,00,000

Monday - 3,00,00,000

Tuesday - 2,75,00,000

Wednesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 39,00,00,000 apprx

The plus for the film will be hardly any new competition in week two and could enable the film to some decent collections in the second week. If there was major releases then screenings would have been a issue considering the occupancy Secret Superstar is doing on the weekdays.
