This doesn't make sense, why would Kangana announce something that isn't true...especially a movie. Wouldn't she know that it would be retracted eventually? something seems off with this. I feel like some important details are being missed

Maybe they did discuss it and then Anand Rai spoke to SRK about it. SRK threatened to stall midget movie. Then ALR rubbished TWM3 rumor to make Kangana look like a fool. 😉

Am giving Kangana a reason to go after SRK.😛

That's exactly what I'm not getting. Maybe, she hoped that if manages to make ample buzz that ALR might consider making it. Sounds far-fetched but I see no other reason.

An intelligent, sane person would assume this if it is a complete lie. I imagine either they had some casual conversation which she misinterpreted (like not realizing someone isn't interested in you just because they invited you to birthday parties even after not returning 1000s of emails) OR he really said the quotes about there being no fall-out, might collaborate again, etc and she took it and ran (like blaming Aamir Khan for ousting you from a film you thought you were in because you read it in the papers ). Lets see how the Queen of Spin spins this one.

Somehow I doubt ALR would have ever really said, Kangana was more serious about TWMR than he was though.

I think she hoped it would run unsourced and ALR would just not respond. That was her modus operandi in the past, sources say...If you read lots of other outlets are saying "sources" without names. But now media is on to her too. That inuth reporter says they asked her PR 3x to confirm so they weren't running it without sources. Other reporters (twitter) are claiming they ignored it from the beginning because they knew it was fake for PR.

Maybe she was trying to get ALR on board as you suggest. Maybe they really are struggling with Manikarnika budget and she was hoping this would get enough buzz for investors for that or her alleged directorial debut.
