Surely you went through flops yourself and to be fair Anurag Basu actually delivered Barfi which was one of RK's best movies.

Calling someone a monkey is just unacceptable and offensive.

No he isn't calling someone monkey. He is using a very popular saying - Bandar ke haath meii ustra dena - And what he explained later fits the saying.

If I say "Bhais ke agee been bajana", I am not calling someone Bhais, I mean someone who doesn't respond to the explanation.
