People should have flocked to watch the movie with such low ticket price. Besides, conspiracy and low ticket price, what else could the reason behind the failure?

Honestly am just put off by Kangana's antics to spend money on her movies. I will check it out once its on Netflix.

Kuch bhi ...i do post link from pvr delhi, and mumbai... does it mean i live there...😆 but I live in burbank 😆 now i made it more clear 🤣

low ticket price in 1st week is bad... lets say 100k people watch movie... x 7 = 700k compared to 12 1.2M which automatically translate in low revenue.

low is price is good after 2 week. I still think kangana did hurt the male ego of the bollywood.

Multiple reasons

In general, it is a bad year for cinema. Online streaming has changed consuming. Audiences are more finicky and discerning. They demand a higher quality and better storylines. If not compelling enough, audiences will wait for a broadcast premiere or the online stream.

The promotions of the film were poor. They did not set expectations about the film right. They relied too much on Kangana's star power and controversy generation. That is not a good promotion tactic. Also while Kangana is an exceptionally talented star she does not have the star power yet to sell tickets just because her name is in the credits.

Music was subpar. In Bollywood music sets the mood for films. Hit music, catchy viral songs can sell advance tickets. Simran's music never caught on.

The film also unsuccessfully straddled the drama + comedy blend. Orange is the New Black that seamlessly blends drama with comedy for a highly effective product. The secret sauce is great writers. Infusing drama with humor is hard. Even OITNB failed in the recent season. I think the writers of the film tried to copy this success formula but could not replicate it.

Finally, the audience is not ready for a negative character to lead the film. Simran is a criminal without too many redemptive qualities. The combination of poor writing and collective social morals has made it impossible for audiences to root for her.

@Green... the status of hit of flop has no bearing to the international collection. Do you see pattern, i.e low ticket price in Indian theater too?

I can see that... she hurt Hritikh, Aditya, Ajay D, Sanjay Dutt's male ego ..😆...She could have hurt Salman Khan's ego too when she was asked about Sallu's rape like woman comment but she chickened out... I still trying to figure out why such a brave woman backed out from hurting Sallu's male ego...
