Both. He's great in negative roles and I enjoyed all his films in which he played negative characters listed in the poll, except Anjaam.
His acting was fine in his romantic films like DTPH, KKHH, DDLJ, VZ and Mohabattein, but I only enjoyed DTPH. VZ was ok.

negative...He is the best one when it comes to negative roles...no one comes even close...the movies may have or not have done well...but he aced every single negative role.

None. He is atrocious in both. In negative his acting turns into comedy due to hamming and awkward OTT expressions.
In romantic heroines act better than him barring JTHJ and JHMS where all acted abysmally.

He plays his roles superbly whatever role he is doing, but I prefer romantic roles more!!
