Aamir and Manisha were struggling singers who fall in love with each other. Aamir proposes to Manisha. Manisha refuses the proposal at first by saying that she wants to concentrate on her career. Aamir convinces her that both of them will try to make it big together but after marriage, he forgets his promise. He doesn't support Manisha when she tells him that she still wants to become a singer and after they had a baby, it became more difficult for her to start a career so she leaves Aamir and her baby, struggles a lot and finally becomes a successful singer. Later she drags Aamir to the court to get her kid's custody. She even gets the custody but in the end, she decides to stay with Aamir and her son.

Lot of people criticized the movie during that time for showing Manisha leaving her family for her career. People called her character selfish and showed sympathy towards Aamir's character. They even criticized her for fighting it out for her kid's custody.

It was the 90s when it released. Was it way ahead of the times?

Do u all agree with what Manisha's character did in the movie?

I dont agree with her character in AKHM just like I dont agree with Erica Kaar character in Shivaay nor I agree with Anushka's character in Sultaan.
I seem to disagree quite a lot.

Lamhe is still above my mathematical calculation zone 😕 i mean it really doesn't give me any sort of equation to believe what i saw or what was projected to thought 😕

No.

AHAT was a horrible copy of the iconic Kramer vs. Kramer, so I disagree!

I've watched Kramer vs Kramer too. I understand why Manisha or Meryl did what they did. I don't know if I agree with it. But, if she felt as psychologically disturbed as projected then I guess everybody has a right to look after themselves too. And she didn't abandon the child on the road, she left the child with the father. The child was going to be better taken care of with somebody who had a more settled life than with someone who was still figuring out stuff. They just wanted to get away from their husbands, in both the movies, just that they couldn't take the child along for the abovementioned reason.
When I was younger, I was against what Manisha did obviously. That's how the general sentiment in the society goes. But, now I think I can understand her side and think it wasn't that bad a decision. It helped the situation eventually.

Edit: It is still ahead of the time we're living in, more so was KvK which released in the 70s.
