Collections do not always correlate to Popularity. The question was related to popularity. For example 30% of PK's business came from Mumbai alone while Bajrangi was an all India hit if we are going to talk about collections. I already stated that Aamir is easily the biggest star in Mumbai and some south cities and top 3 in all major cities. Its the smaller towns where things get a little dicey.

Okay. I live in India. Aamir is not the Salman level Mass popular type here but his films have the universal impression of being good. Isi liye movie coming out ke time, people always, without fail, come out for his stuff while giving the "popular" ones a miss. Social media or name-basis popularity is bokwas if people don't come out for your films. Waise toh Katrina is still popular here but nobody actually goes to watch her films anymore. Popularity must correlate to success also, warna aise toh Sunny sabse zyada popular hain. Popularity isn't quantitative anyway. Par thik hain, at the moment Aamir is more successful than all the lessers combined, jitna bhi yeh forum roye. Their job is attracting people to theatres, uss basis se hi popularity decide hoga.

atleast u should have referred to any trade sites 😆...check collections of any of the individual territories after Bahubali2 it's either Aamir or Salman...still 236 crs from PK came from the rest of the centers...Akki's JLLB2's 35% of 107 cr collections came from Mumbai...
