AKshay & Hrithik, Ajay from the seniors,

Ranveer & Varun from the younger lot.

Movie opening numbers also show the popularity of actors in it.

Ranveer actually has to do something big without Bhansali to earn more popularity. Being a young actor he doesn't deserve to waste 2 years to Bhansali.

What about Ranbir? Do you think he's popular?

Current situation then probably Varun, Akshay, Ranveer, Ranbir and Hrithik in that order. Hrithik was once ahead all and levelled up with Khans but post Bang Bang he's lost a lot of fan following

Akshay followed by Ajay and to certain extent HR. Lets not forget Big B. Rest are all aayaram gayaram types.

Hrithik didn't lose his fans but his fans are not rabid and are only active when his movies release.

I dont think varun is above Akki and Hrithik though, yes he has successful films in hia name but popularity is not measured by box office hits
