Would JWM Have Been As Successful Without Kareena?

I can't think of anyone doing the role of Geet, only actress is Kajol probably could've made the movie successful but she had to be paired with an older actor than Shahid.

Geet had a youthfulness to it that Kareena brought out well. Kajol would have done well too. Not sure even she could have topped Kareena.

I just rewatched JWM yesterday and I thought Kareena was quite annoying in some scenes... especially the climax where she confesses her love to Aditya... She was doing her usual OTT style acting...

In retrospect I think Shahid actually did better in that movie than Kareena 😆
I probably just dont like Kareena's style of acting.

And yeah I do think JWM would have been successful without her...or Shahid.. the star of the movie is the script...

It was a thoroughly entertaining romcom.

she was the best part in JWM. Geet is one of the best lovable female characters in BW. and that's too coj of Kareena. she totally nailed it.

I can't say actually. Whenever I watch JWM, I only visualise Kareena as Geet. Never thought about anybody else.

JWM and Socha Na were successful coz they were Imtiaz Ali's least pretentious work. Their complexity was in their simplicity. And that was a good story. He didn't need to DRAG the film out with unnecessary scenes or dialogues or go on a philosophical rant because both movies had a solid storyline. Original for their time.

Biggest example of how the script is the ultimate hero. But it was exponentially heightened because of AMAZING actors. From Kareena and Shahid to even Anshuman...iconic!

Who remembers his ganne ke khet rant? HOW FRIKKIN HILARIOUS AND CUTE!
