Does anyone else think Shyra was a pseudo liberal and this movie failed to really live upto her personality of "Befikre" because initially she was shown as liberal, casual and no f**ks given type of a girl but soon she was reduced to just another bollywood sanskaari damsel in distress?
Shes liberal and out going while she is with Dharam but when they break up Dharam goes on to have many one night stands with random girls but she is just seen stroling lonely on Paris streets and reevaluating her life? And during the yacht scene Dharam is again openly sleeping around with his girlfriend and doing all kinds of things but when she is dating Aney he is showing no interest in her and she remains untouched.

So Dharam was befikra and went on to had many flings and one night stands but Shyra refused to let any man touch her right till the climax where again Aney was haphazardly shown as a bad guy when there was nothing really wrong with him and he wasnt as a douchebag like Dharam.

This movie just gave me the Cocktail and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai vibes.

what do u mean by pseudo liberals...If she was judging someone for sleeping around...I would have called her that...but a liberal person can have their boundaries st for themselves which they may not want to cross...but they would not judge another person for doing what they don't want to do...I have watched Befikre by fast forwarding it...so I just got about a gist of it ...but if she was not judging others she can't be called a pseudo...I can tell myself...that I am going to not have pre marital sex...but that is me...and its the liberal me...because if my friend chooses to have sex before marriage its her choice...I am not going to judge her...and I am as liberal as anyone can be.

^I think it was that she had already slept around enough that it didn't interest her anymore. Ranveer's character was inexperienced and judging her for her history until he was able to mess around himself.

Both of the characters were unlikable as people (IMO) but that's why they worked. I wouldn't want them spoiling someone else's life. 😆

What I mean is that initially she was this careless no f**ks give type of girl who didn't wanted to be in typical relationship although I wouldn't call it strings around but she didn't had the same typical saving yourself for Bollywood hero notions. She was a wild girl who enjoyed her life and until she broke up with Dharm she was still the very same person. But around later half into the movie she almost pulls a Cocktail movie and she felt like she owed something to Dharma and just couldn't mingle with any other guys while on the contrary he was hardly affected and khulle aam had bunch of flings. That's why her character took a tumble and I found it hard to understand how she suddenly turned into sanskaari. 😆

OK...I hardly remember anything from this useless movie...but for me ...its like even if she turned sanskari( and I seriously don't get the thing about sanskari people not being liberals) ...as long as she didn't judge others and kept her sanskars to herself...she is a liberal...I think people get mixed up between sanskari and liberal as being mutually exclusive while they are not...I don't even know what sanskaari means?? For me I have to abide by the boundaries set for myself...beyond that what people are doing...is their doing and they will reap the benefits or punishments of that.

Didn't watch d movie, but assuming she must hv matured n didn't wanna slp around with any aira gaira... may be she wanted a meaningful relationship... it doesn't mean she was not liberal.

That could be one reason or my theory is the the director couldn't have the actress cheating on the hero which I find a bit ridiculous because it follows the stereotype that only men do these things or can get away scot free but if the lead actress was doing it then would somehow tarnish their happy ending. This is the gist of my entire post.

I think sleeping around can mean different things to different people
For some it is a way of enjoying sex without commitment , while for others it's simply fun and for some it's a way to deal with their loneliness

With her character , she had grown out of that phase , while Ranveer's character didn't
