In 2016, a Marathi film Sairat became
the talk of the town after the romantic
drama hit the right chord with the
audience and critics alike. Be it the
storyline or the performances by
newcomers, everything about Sairat
spelled magic. And even Amitabh
Bachchan couldn't help but laud the
film directed by Nagraj Manjule.
And now months later, Big B has signed
a film with Nagraj Manjule. According to
a report in DNA, the 74-year-old actor
will essay the role of a patriarch with
shades of grey.
After the hit film Sairat, Manjule had
another script in his mind for a Marathi
film, but later, he decided to revisit the
story in Hindi, and that is when he
approached Amitabh Bachchan.
A source was quoted as telling the daily,
"Nagraj worked on it for a year-and-a-
half before taking the script to
Bachchan in January. The project was
locked soon after."
In fact, Manjule recently revealed that he
is a big fan of Big B, and had decided to
become a filmmaker after enacting a
few scenes of his iconic film Sholay. Big
B too lauded Manjule for his
masterpiece Sairat.

Sounds solid. Sairat was gorgeous. Hopefully the director won't lose the simplicity of his filmmaking in the glitz of BW or in the process of fanboying about AB SR.
