I know it was a very well liked movie but i have always wondered why?I mean i found it very regressive. It was based on the premise that if a girl is modern ,goes clubbing and has boyfriend's then she is not marriage material or worth true love .Only simple and goody two shoes kind of girls can be wives or can be loved. However guy can do whatever he wants, go clubbing and sleep around in end he will find love with sweet and simple girl.
Till date i cant stand this movie. Is there some thing wrong with my understanding of the movie or does any one else find it regressive as well?

I totally loved Deepika's character in the movie.
The movie is somewhat regressive but guys in general are like that. During my bachelor's I have heard guys having two lists of girls. One they can only date and one they think are marriage material. So, most of the guys are like that.

Yes there are guys who think like that but Saifs character was an idiot he didnt deserve a happy ending with the two girls.

Yes it is quite regressive
They showed that only a shaant susheela sanskari girl is marriage material
And girl who like to party or drink are not fit for marriage
I did not feel an iota of sympathy for Meera
As she knew that Veronica loved Gautham still she came in between them
I felt so bad for Veronica only as she did not deserve rejection
But then again Gautham did not deserve either of them as well

saif's character was regressive, but meera's character was wrong too..never understood why Meera fell for him...She was married. She was staying with someone who helped her out when she was on the streets... To "fall" for the friend's man is sick 🤢🤢 And worse part was deepika's character crying over him! 🥱

Right .In this day and age to show that if a girl wears modern clothes and likes partying cant truly be loved is just too much

The only thing I didn't like about this movie was Veronica desparetely wanting to be with Saif's character (Gautam ?) . Otherwise both Meera and him deserved each other. One hypocrite a**hole and another backstabber.

Only everyone. Veronica's desperation was insufferable. Like, you'll get someone else god. Plus women fighting over buddha Saif is unbelievable. Uske upar disgusting demonization of the so-called "modern" women and the glorification of naive, Sanskari idiocy. Saif's character was literally the personification of Indian patriarchal hypocrisy. It was a terribly regressive movie.
