Can't recollect ever seeing an uproar for any character but I'm sure It'll be annoying to witness sth like that.

Loudest cheer I have ever heard was during Salmans entry in KKHH. This was when there was no such thing as spoilers on the internet and his special appearance was a well kept secret.
The cheering and claps continued well halfway into the song.

Harry potter last part premiere everywhere got lots of cheers.when lion king released again in 3d it got cheers var var ke. IlSo it's not limited to India.
It's so much fun to watch a movie when the audience is cheering n singing along imo, very enjoyable . In Kolkata in multiplexes too people cheer ,not only in hero entry but if there's any dhasu scene also, clap in good jokes n all

Well, I have seen so many girls hoot for Fawad in a theater in Chennai when K&S trailer was shown during Neerja screening. I was quite taken aback since most people think on I.F that he's merely an Internet superstaršŸ˜‰
I've watched Inception in a theater in India. di Caprio got the loudest cheers during his entry scene.

I know it happens in all Masala movies, but the weirdest was people giving standing ovation for Vidya Balan final scene in Kahaani.
As if it was happening for real.šŸ˜†

The loudest cheers for bollywood actor entry I have ever heard was SRK in Don 2 ! It was defeaning and the multiplex manager intervened and asked all of us to calm down šŸ˜†. I was guilty too since I was screaming too ( something I normally don't like).
As for the question, I think it only happens for well established superstars, because they are superstars šŸ˜‰
