Zandu: LOL Ikr? It also boils down to what we perceive as rich/wealthy I reckon. But IF has a very strange mentality that unless you & your family hasn't been starving on the road with no house to live in, then everyone is well-to-do/upper-middle class/connected/well-connected BLA BLA BLA BLA. 🤡 It's a mentality I can never understand. Not about RS, who is rich btw, but I was remembering that SRK thread & really laughing when this one ppped up. If SRK was well-to-do, then I am queen of England. LMAO.

Ofcourse there were blinds about his dad financing his first film but since its Ranveer we'll treat this as rumor 😆. Ranveer is really unique ... since he is no star son, there are no humongous expectations from him or the pressure of being compared to a successful father or lineage yet being an insider he has enough connections to get good work with good directors.

People are comparing School and College fees but they can't find articles that describe RS's Dad's net worth as 1000 crore.

So for a guy in Construction, Pharma and many other business worth 1000 crore, what is US Uni fees of 1 Cr and what is 10-20 Cr for them to pay to YRF ??

@Bold - Since it is RS, he must have struggled and his multi millionaire dad must not have paid money. And 1000 Cr is not rich enough to sponsor a movie .

There are no real outsider in today's BW like a dharmendra 50 yrs back

If you think there are those, who can move forward as hero heroine or have significant side role without any connection
You are dreaming.

Bw is all about connections and money. Maintaining those life style contact etc is absolutely difficult.

That's why even a deepika Paducone started out as Model , built money and connections before she got her break.

Nawaz , a true talented outsider , was doing 3s chor roles in movies like munnabhai at the prime of his youth. His success came post kahani only 5 yrs back
In his mid 30to late 30s

He has to hang on to the itsi bitsie roles to make a living

Kalki, another talented outsider with theatre background, married Anurag K and hobnobbed with whos who and is now semi big league.

So don't fool yourself with insider outsider stories

Why do you think kangana os so aggressive? People here call her all sorts of name for her attitude and personality. She had to do all sorts of shit to keep going on, and even she comes from a well to do family.

Yami's dad was Zee s top level officer/ chanel head (?) in Punjab and even she had to start off with blah tv shows like raajkumar aaryan

No one outsider can really break through in bollywood at this point .

You said it all 👏

Case Closed on Insider-Outsider debate. Everyone is insider.
In Potter world - they may be Pure Blood, Half Blood or Muggle borns😊 ( Credit to original thinkers on previous topic)

I think Kangna is an outsider in that she had absolutely no inside connection. That's why she did all sort of stuff to hang on. And its probably these experiences that toughened her up and she is so aggressive on anything. Because she learned it the hard way how to get something and she hasn't reached the stage of srk where she can afford to be polite and behaviour.

All those manners and behavior criticisms she faces here, you cannot go through such shit and retain the gentlemanly or lady like pleasantries. It is just not possible.

To her credit she has groomed herself so well and comes off as thoughtful and well spoken.

Those who don't know what struggle is, usually can afford to have etiquettes and manners.

Eta: if I remember srk in his youth and gauri both were aggressive and defensive in those years of struggle.

You cannot really afford to do otherwise in the dog eat pregnant dog world of bw

LN - You are right about Kangu. Her aggression is a survival tactic. If she cows down, they'll eat her up .
SRK was super aggressive in 90s, fiercely competitive and didn't take anything lightly - be it a movie or any endorsement.

If everyone with connections and network was an insider then there will be no outsider in a private industry cause they don't really come out with recruitment advertisements. They all have to find the right casting agencies and agents to find a place at the auditions. Networking is the only way u can enter into such industries.Thats just the part of the process. I also don't understand the part where belonging to a well to do family becomes an unfair advantage over others. Thats like a saying a rich person should never be allowed to compete anywhere just because u r rich and its unfair to the rest.

I thought insider meant who belong to filmy families and who uses their influences and money to get u a a movie and keep promoting u from the very begining of ur career. Your surname becomes ur brand name and u r covered by every media even before u start shooting. Now the meaning suddenly changes to knowing people from the industry, attending parties and having money. 😕
