WHILE This newspaper was the one to tell you first that leggy Deepika Padukone got paid Rs 12 crores plus for her title role in Padmavati. A whopping salary? You bet. But justifiable given that Dippy girl had given 220-plus days for the film's shooting which practically made it impossible for her to take on another big project in the same year. But now, we hear that rather like Bata, this has become the actress' fixed price. Our well-entrenched Bollywood source would have us know that when recently approached by a producer for a movie with a certain Khan, she quoted the same figure leaving the producer gobsmacked. This is especially so since the film is a two-heroine project. Naturally, the other diva too would come with her own ask. Last heard, Dippy is not budging. Keep watching this space.

An actress charges 12 crores and it leaves the producers gobsmacked but when actors (even those who have given many flops) charge three times the amount the same producers have no qualms in paying them such high fees. Wow.

Why is it always a big deal when a actress gets more. I never see articles about actors getting paid a "whopping" double digit number.
It doesn't matter if the an actress deserves that much money or not... because half of the male actors in BW don't deserve what they are paid but no one cares about that.
If DP is getting paid 12 crore then good for her she deserves it... she's been in Bollywood for over a decade she deserves every penny she makes.

She can ask for whatever amount she wants. That's her right. But similarly people can choose to say no to that and not give her the job.
