Oscar's body invites Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aamir Kh

The prestigious Oscar's body has invited
774 members for Academy's class of 2017
and interestingly like previous year, this
time around our Bollywood celebs have also
joined the list. Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan,
Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and
Irrfan Khan have been invited.
Various Indian directors have also made it
to the list including Mrinal Sen, Buddhadeb
Dasgupta and Goutam Ghose, writer Sooni
Taraporevala, costume designer Arjun
Bhasin, documentary maker Anand
Patwardhan and sound designer Amrit
Pritam Dutta.
Popular names from Hollywood like Chris
Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Gal Gadot, Dwayne
Johnson, Riz Ahmed, Terry Crews, Chris
Pratt, Anna Faris, Donald Glover and Zoe
Kravitz will also be part of the illustrious list.
Academy President, Cheryl Boone Isaacs
issued an official statement saying, "We're
proud to invite our newest class to the
Academy. The entire motion picture
community is what we make of it. It's up to
all of us to ensure that new faces and
voices are seen and heard, and to take a
shot on the next generation the way
someone took a shot on each of us.
The new members invited are from seven
different categories of filmmaking such as
actors, casting directors, designers,
costume designers, documentary,
executives and film editors. It's the academy
members who vote and decide the
prestigious Oscar winners. It's a great
platform to welcome various talents from
across the world.
