Khan - Salman Khan movie Tubelight, in a
cameo appearance. Recently, during the
promotions of the much awaited movie,
director Kabir explained why he chose SRK
for the particular role and how he and SRK
go a long way back.
He said to a leading portal, "Shah Rukh's is a
lovely character in the film. It's a very pivotal
scene in the film. In a certain way it sets off
the process of Salman character of what he
will do in the film. It's going to be a treat to
Salman and Shah Rukh together on screen
after 20 years. It's a beautiful scene. And I
too am looking forward to the audience
reaction to that part. I have left a little lull in
that scene just for people to scream, shout,
whistle and settle down before I go
forward. I know what's going to happen in
the theatre. It's going to be Mayhem when
the two of them come together."
Talking about his personal equation with
SRK, Kabir said, "SRK is somebody I have
known since college days. He had given me
his college notes to study. I cleared my
masters in film-making with his notes. We
were in same school. He was senior to me
by 2 years. Gauri and I had been dancing
partners in a production called Westside
Stories. So we go back a long way. All these
factors combined, he said yes immediately."
Tubelight is written and directed by Kabir
Khan. It stars Salman Khan in the lead role
who plays a man from India. The film is
scheduled for release on 23 June and is an
adaptation of 2015 film Little Boy.
