Do actors make good role models?

Are actors good role models? Though we all say that we shouldn't emulate actors, the fact of the matter is that actors have a lot of influence. And they influence our culture and values as well to a certain extent. Especially when we're younger and more vulnerable to the messages and values they send across.
I personally don't think actors are good role models but they try too hard to portray a certain image and often their words and actions are contradictory to their image and what they say. I admire actor's works but I don't respect them and look up to them as role models but I find most (if not all) actors are not genuine and are quite hypocritical and too busy playing up to an image. Blame it on the pressure of the industries, but still it's true.

The reason why I'm asking this question as I've seen a lot of blind fans on social media. Blind fans who over-praise their actor's character and do not call out their idols when he or she does something hypocritical and even wrong. Blind fans who take any criticism about their idols as insults and defend their actions and words to the high heavens when they are wrong. Do you think fans are too involved in their idols' lives? Do you think fans need to learn to step back and stop looking at the actors as idols and role models? How and when do you think such a change can occur? Should actors also play a part in this?

Actors should never be seen as role models. We can like and get inspired by some traits of them...but we shouldn't make them our idols and defend their wrong doings.

Role model naam ke koi chiz hoti nahin hai. Einstein, Ambedkar, and many great guys were MCPs. Every human being is flawed.

SRK= Family man
Salman = Being Human
Akki= Deshbhakt

Only idiots will believe that this is their real personality. Fans only get attracted by their onscreen character and forget the difference between reel and real. That's why there are hardly any fans of Shakti Kapoor or Gulshan Grover.

Even if this is their real personality then also there are many people who have sacrificed much more for their country including their lives. There are also many people who have donated almost all their wealth to the poor and needy. And almost every man loves his family.

So these actors are nothing special. They are just like you and me.

Definitely no. I am sure there are genuine good actors out there but I wouldn't so far as to put them on a pedestal and act like they are my Gods as some people do.
