I don't know about the first name you mentioned.

But, Raja Sen and Masand have any credibility? 😆

Raja Sen gave 4 stars to ADHM/Fan, he had also given high marks to many other poor films. Also, Masand was the one who gave 3.5/4 stars to PRDP, then he even stated RK was phenomenal in ADHM. Hope, you agree with his opinions on these matters too. 😉

If there were 10% critics then 90% critics have stated that RK stole the show in the film. King... has already posted them.

Bharadwaj Rangan is one of the most respected critic in India.google him. Here was Shubra of Ie headline review

Deepika Padukone is luminous, and she is much more sure-footed in her part. Even though Ranbir Kapoor gets more space, Tara is drawn with welcome depth.

Even Anupama Chopra said that the movie felt interesting till DP was there post that Rks portions were a bore.
When most of the leading critics say similar, I guess there must be some merit to it.

Many of the leading critics have had praised many other average movies & performances to sky high. Their opinions isn't gospel truth or a fact. If you found DP's performance better than him in Tamasha, that's cool your opinion but don't present it as a fact.

I presented an opinion, you'll made fun of it and kept asking for evidence to back it up. When I substantiate it saying yes many other also felt similar, now you say state your opinion.
😆
Anyways, I was not a fan of DP prior to cocktail, started loving her acting post cocktail wherein she's been really acing it. Only chink was Bajirao M where she disappointed and Priyanka overshadowed her .
I am not a biased fan, I like actors who act and that's the only criteria.

Some comments here 🤪🤣

Tamasha was an out-and-out Ranbir show, and his character Ved was extremely complex and challenging(and he was SUBLIME). So there's no way in hell that DP overshadowed him with her limited 20 minute role She was basically just a showpiece who was hired to provide glamour quotient and her performance was extremely BAD, thanks to her awful voice modulation and flat dialogue delivery 🥱
Tara was not only a forgettable, poorly written character but even the so-called outstanding performer failed to breathe life into that bland role.

Now coming to YJHD...forget Ranbir! DP could not even hold her own against the supremely talented Kalki and her juicy role as the sprightly firebrand Aditi, so how in the world did she overshadow Ranbir was simply effortless as Bunny? 😕 Pfft!!!
Naina was another boring and unmemorable role/performance 🥱

I didn't ask for "evidence". I'm very much aware of those certain reviews. But, you posted it as if its kinda a fact.

@Bold Yea. Saw that in your first post. 😆

Baradwaj Rangan is an Natkonal Award winning critic. The only one actually, worthy of the job of a "critic" because he seldom displays partiality or bias. Raja Sen is just a pseudo-intellectual sell-out, Masand, less said the better.. But Rangan, is super-observant, sharp & even film-makers who hate all critics, respect him. Hope he never loses his integrity.

She overshadowed BigB and Irfan in Piku.
She overshadowed RK in Tamasha.
She overshadowed everyone else in RL.

Fascinating stuff 😆

But I wonder what happened to the so-called legendary scene stealer in BM where PC wiped the floor with her? 🤔

The film might be Ranbir's and he might be good and earnest and all that, but Deepika makes a bigger impact.

In the first half, it almost feels like Deepika overshadows Ranbir, but you realise at some point that that is because we are looking at her character through his character's eyes and so, like him, we are utterly, completely captivated. And then post-interval the tone and mood change. She is still self-contained, a free spirit, but he is a caged bird, and that is when Ranbir explodes on screen. Tamasha is possibly the best that the two stars have ever been in a film.

Deepika's Tara in the second half of Tamasha, however, becomes entirely about Ranbir's Ved in a way that leaves us thirsting for more of her. This is the film's big, gaping writing loophole.

If I say both suck equally, are terrible actors, and the ones who stole the show were the auto vala in Tamasha, and Kunaal Roy in YJHD, which direction will this conversation go in then? 😆
