In that Simi Garewal's Rendevouz show, once Saif admitted that Sharmila verbally bashed Amrita for trapping Saif. But even on the show, Amrita was very elegant and simply said she doesn't remembers that. Sharmila has always been a very strong woman. In her heydays, she was as bold and arrogant as Kareena is today. So, don't she would take it lying down if an older woman like Amrita married her son without the parents' permission. So, I don't know how much was Amrita even accepted in the Pataudi household. They will, of course, say all good things in the media about each other but within the family, if Amrita was not given the due respect then maybe she would have retaliated too.

This old interview is a load of BS and just Saif making excuses for his own infedility during marriage and the well publicized affair with Rosa which finally ended their marriage.

Basically hes a cheapskate who didnt give Amrita enough alimony or child support so she had to take up vamp's roles in movies(Kalyug) and Ekta Kapoor serial(Kavyanjali) to bring up her kids

I think Saif and Kareena's PR are overactive these days, to counter Saif's string of flops and Kareena's career in the doldrums. So they are digging up these old interviews to create some controversies, anything to stay in the news, even news as dead as a dodo. 🥱

Not So Little, Not-So-Secret, But Quite Dirty Indeed

The main reason that led to the downfall of their relationship and marriage can be viewed in two ways. Amrita's story, as she revealed to Stardust magazine, spoke of how she bore the brunt of Saif's infidelity on many an occasion, with two examples that stood out. The first taste she says she got of Saif's wandering eye is when they were giving an "up and coming actress a lift," such that upon returning to the car after buying something she caught Saif and the girl talking about things far more personal than just business or movies.

The final act in the coffin according to Amrita was Saif's affair with Rosa, an Italian dancer, who he was courting overseas.

Saif on the other hand maintains that it was simply a case of "falling out of love" with Amrita, and that he then saw no sense in pursuing such a relationship. The couple divorced in 2004 in a much publicized split and left many a disbelieving fan in their wake.

If you think that after the curious case of the Saif-Amrita Singh marriage story and tragic divorce, things seemed to get better for Amrita, then you're mistaken, at least initially. Amrita, who had given up her acting career to be at home and to look after her kids after marriage, suddenly found herself alone and in the company of two children that she had to raise alone, with Saif offering no help or financial assistance to his estranged ex-wife.

Amrita was suddenly back in the market and looking for roles, once even clarifying that "I need to work to support myself and my kids."

Good reasoning .. I was myself wondering how a more than a decade old article is in news all of a sudden. Who would bother to dig deep into finding an age old article to find such an issue? .. Maybe it is the PR team. Wow .. when times are bad, anything and everything is used.

So "classy" Nawab can be an arse as the Brits say.

I always thought Amrita wanted kids and marriage and Saif did not based on the age gap at the time of marriage. At an age where others were playing the field Saif was a father. But you reap what you sow. It takes two to make a baby and if he did not want one, he could have used a condom. But once he made a baby, time to grow up however young he was. No excuses, the kid did not ask to be born so be a good dad, don't punish the kid because of anger against the mom.

I think you can be a good father even if you are a bad husband. BW has tons of men who cheat, but many are good fathers. Saif seems a better husband to Kareena and a better father now to Sara and Ibrahim. And I think he will be a better father to Taimur.

True. But now I don't know how good a mother will Kareena be. The infant is only a few months old, but she is already travelling abroad for trips without him. People can jump on the issue all they want, but Kareena doesn't looks like she is interested in motherhood that much.

Sharmila was critical of Amrita their whole marriage, made her feel unwelcome.. and as for Soha, she was the first to fangirl each time Saif jumped into a new relationship. So why would Amrita have glowing words for them when their dynamic was always awkward.
