The entire bloodshed/misunderstanding/ destruction happened due to Sivagami. Youa re right - she ordered for Baahu's death when his wife is on the verge of giving birth. So her falling on Devsena's feet of course wouldn't mean much.

She has repented, she gave her life to save Mahendra ... yes, that's the least she could do.

And I really wish Mahendra had made Katappa a Minister and freed him from the slavery

Well, I may sound rude but Kattapa deserved to stay a slave. Since his vachan was more important than human values. Kattapa also had a hand in destroying Amarendra's family: he died, his wife was imprisoned right after childbirth, mother son had to be separated, son came back after 25 years. Despite knowing everything about Bhalla, he was still protecting him and his son.
And anyway, the slavery would have ended with his death, as he had no family (fortunately).

Exactly! In the second part, her character was the same as Neelambari! Neelambari commited suicide because she could not win over her love (obsession) and because she had lost to him, Padayappa. She was ashamed. Likewise, Sivagami gave up her life because she had been wrong all along, because she realized Amarendra and Devasena were far more superior than her.
How do you think she would have been had Devasena become the widowed Queen and Bhalla punished the right way? She could not have faced Devasena after that. To see a young widow everyday, to see a baby who could not see and be held by his dad, to have destroyed a family... she could not have faced the people of Maahishmati as well. She would have been ashamed and would have prefered death.

SSR, if this is your definition of justice, I'm rather afraid of you!

Of course he was! I was so angered and emitional after Baahu's murder that I didnt pay heed to him.
But yes, she is Pichimatha! In fact, the whole crowd should have chanted this! Would have served her right! Why didn't she tell the crowd that was the one to have ordered Baahu's execution?
