Sillunu oru Kadhal was a movie that starred a real life pair, Surya and Jyothika.
The movie was made after their relationship was made official but before the marriage.

If Surya were to make a movie now with Jyo as the heroine, I dont think the audience would accept it.
Unfortunately, we live in a society where grandfathers are still young college going heroes acting opposite girls quarter their age, but the ladies play mother roles as soon as they're married. Take Jyo for an exemple. But atleast these are movies.

Our newly elected President in France is 39 whereas his wife is 64. You dont wanna hear all the bad things people talk about them! We know its uncommon, but see Trump and Melania and their age gap. None would make a big issue of that

Unfortunately true ... whatever the status of a hero may be and whatever his age may be but the heroin has to be below 25 and slim ..even though they look like Grandfather and Granddaughter they will accept it 🤢

@bold - I think in Surya-Jyo's case, it might work.. people will accept it..

But yes.. it's a pity that we r still like this in 2017.

I meant not exactly like ye maaya chesave. It should be along the same concept but a more mature love story. Ki and ka they were more at odds with each other.

true but i think...he always portrays that small portion with beauty...(not comparing him to SSR but they have similar formula...)

even if they end in tragedy...i think the love stories he gives are genuine...i wouldn't mind if they act in that...regardless of its ending...

but i also think...D and S when they act together again will also want to have a happy ending since their last movie had a tragic ending...its just my thought...but i guess like every actor says it depend on the script...

Lets take Kabali for an exemple.
Radhika Apte is the heroin and the flashback portion is short. Its mostly about this aged man.
Rajinikant did act his age. But I was like why did they have to chose Radhika Apte as the heroin? She's a young girl. Why putting on a lot of make up to make her look aged? Why couldnt they cast a yesteryear Rajni's heroin as his wife in this movie? Someone like Ramya K, Radhika Sarathkumar, Meena, Ambika, Radha, Nadhiya... the list is huge!
Thats because the audience wouldnt pay interest then

I appreciate Dhanush for directing a romantic movie with Rajkuran and Revathy as the lead pair!
