You must have heard about "making mountain out of molehill" but they went further with " making mountain out of nothing". They proved that people are gullible.

This thread wasn't created to decide who's more iconic. Chulbul pandey lovers can very well make an appraisal thread for him or worship him in any already existent one.

That's because even though they took an entire part-1 and some of part-2, still failed to establish Mahendra's character properly...Whereas Amarendra is simply an embodiment of perfection...A true case of father overshadowing the son...😆

Mahendra got a bit less time to develop as a character.. may be some thing could have been omitted form part 1 😆

From the beginning they were only focussed on establishing his macho man image, be it the lifting of the Shivalinga or the climbing of that gigantic waterfalls...Never did they take a minute to establish his values, his persona etc...

Oh that looong war from the part-1 could've been trimmed to accommodate so much more story wise...My forever gripe against Baahubali-1 is that looong battle scene...

Mahendra and Amarendra got the exact time . Amarendra appeared near the end of the first part itself. Mahendra did too in the end of second part. But as a whole Mahendra's character could really not be so polished because neither did he grow up royal, nor get proper trainings. So we had to be happy with the little instincts he got through blood only. Mahendra's character was purposely a bit underwritten I suppose. Just to glorify amarendra more.
Bahubali 1 had only got many calling prabhas, the Bahubali guy without knowing his name. But BB2 stamped the name on hearts. That's the difference between amarendra and Mahendra.

Mahendra is a bit raw. His strength lies in the fact that Amarendra and Devasena's blood runs through to him. He was brought up by tribals who were ardent devotees of Lord Shiva, that is where he turned to get strength to defeat Bhalla. His values are not great, neither is he flawless. He has to work on his notions of dharma.
What he has is immense love. What people see is his strength when he lifted the Shivling, but we often fail to notice the immense love he had for his amma, Sanga. That was what made him do that. He cut off Bhadra's head disturbed by the fact how he treated Devasena. He will go to any lengths for the people he loves. The romance between him and Avantika was creepy for sure, but he did go to a kingdom he knew nothing off for his girl's mission. Didn't question why he had to go. In his love, he often ignores what is right or wrong. Now, that he has become a king he will have to rework on those morals. But, the same love has an advantage. He will love his people and if he does that, good will rule. Because when Mahendra loves, it is immense. Just a little bit of work on dharma.

Mahendra is a shadow of Amarendra. He was brought up that way. And he is like that, very raw.

Amarendra will remain a legend though.😳
