He has to work on his notions of dharma.

What he has is immense love. What people see is his strength when he lifted the Shivling, but we often fail to notice the immense love he had for his amma, Sanga. That was what made him do that. He cut off Bhadra's head disturbed by the fact how he treated Devasena. He will go to any lengths for the people he loves. The romance between him and Avantika was creepy for sure, but he did go to a kingdom he knew nothing off for his girl's mission. Didn't question why he had to go. In his love, he often ignores what is right or wrong. Now, that he has become a king he will have to rework on those morals. But, the same love has an advantage. He will love his people and if he does that, good will rule. Because when Mahendra loves, it is immense. Just a little bit of work on dharma.

Mahendra is a shadow of Amarendra. He was brought up that way. And he is like that, very raw.

Amarendra will remain a legend though.😳

Agree 100% on your analysis of mahendra. As you said he is a bit raw, and even if does not have the strict notions of dharma yet like his father, he has the love in spades, so regardless with time, he will learn. Wish we would have got to see mahendra develop bit more as a king and get more character development.

Yes, wish that he would have got more time to develop. But I guess this is how it was supposed to be, it was supposed to be shadowed under Amarendra. But, Mahendra has got a raw charm of his own if we will notice. However, Amara will rule our hearts!😳

Oh that looong war from the part-1 could've been trimmed to accommodate so much more story wise...My forever gripe against Baahubali-1 is that looong battle scene...

Bold They wanted us to understand that he is a very strong man...
Red - U mean the battle with the tribal people ? Where Bhallal uses that chariot that has spikes at the sides ? Yes indeed that could have been a bit shorter...We understood Baahubali not only killed the enemies but also took care none of the innocents were harmed

Just saw that interview of Prabhas with Rajeev. Prabhas also said - Mahendra is just a shadow of Amarendra. and he grown up in different environment. there was no restriction for Mahendra. While there are many restrictions for Amarendra that he must follow. and he said both BB1 and BB2 actually revolved around Amarendra. there was not much things to showcase about Mahendra, there was no need actually. coj central character is Amarendra.

The main characters were all mostly in the flashback. I liked how there was a clear cut contrast between both the characters. We cannot say no need, because he is crucial for revenge and good coming back but yes Amarendra is above Mahendra.

Well is started liking prabhas from the first movie itself, i liked mahendra too, but yea much focus was given on showcasing his strength, not his character. And it worked too, the shiv linga scene and waterfall sequence are two of my most favourite scenes from bahubali and still give me goosebumps! But anyways, like explained above, mahendra can go to any extent for the people he loves and he was raised in a completely different atmosphere, amarendra was a yuvraaj and therefore much more restraint, while shiva/mahendra was a free spirited young man from a small village, therefore there is a vast difference between the two. Amarendra was just a perfect king like or even god like person, while shiva has a lot to learn.

And wish they showed more of shiva in the second movie, atleast added a few more scenes like avantika hesitant to marry him after he becomes the king and him convincing her a little bit 😆 And btw both shiva and avantika are common people turned king and Queen, so their journey would have been interesting 😃
