I also liked that it was in a battle and not the usual touchy stuff placed in songs. It was unique and showed their sync so perfectly. Though I'm also baffled as to bhalla's obsession with devasena. Weird that!

Bhalla's false ego was hurt when Devasena rejected him. To him, she was a possession, a toy that he wanted. And his mother was wrong there to indulge him.

As a Queen, she should have remembered that Devasena is a Princess, albeit of a smaller kingdom, she was also an individual and had the right to say yes or no to the proposal. Though Sivagami knew that Amarendra was the perfect heir to the throne, yet she knew that somewhere Bhalla was hurt. And Devasena was the toy which she was willing to hand over to him as compensation.

Bhalla wanted everything that was Amar's - the kingdom, Devasena, loyalty from the people... To him, torturing Devsena was a way of getting back at Amar, even when he was dead.

God knows what scenes of Deva and Bhalla they didn't show

Still she stood with her head held high, no matter the circumstance, without once wallowing in pity for herself. She was a true shatriyani through and through! 👏

Yes in spite of all the hardships she never flinched 😃 the smile she gave while lighting Bhallal was worth it 😳😳

Also somewhere, she knew that Amarendra lost his throne because of their being together

Further, she couldn't even see her husband for once after he was killed. No rites, nothing. No closure basically.

Yes a total loss on that aspect

@Poetic Even I felt the same...Shivagami knew that Bhallal was hurt as he did not get the throne...so she wanted to give Devasena to him as a compensation as she was giving all those weapons that Bhallal refused later

Yes, Devsena was a compensation for Bhallal. That's where Sivagami went wrong, according to me. Being a woman she considered another woman as just a doll. Why? Because she knew of her stature? The might of her kingdom? The subjugation in the mind of the vassal kingdoms?

As a Mother, it was ok to think that Bhallal could be happy with the Princess, and a proposal could have been sent. But she promised Bhallal the girl, which IMHO was the beginning of the whole problem. This, irrespective of whether Amr-Devsena were together.

^^^ Indeed...Devasena could have fallen for some one from another kingdom too...Her arrogance costed a lot and brought her ultimate downfall along with the ruin of the kingdom

The scene right before the interval where the entire crowd is cheering for Bahubali even though he is only sworn in as the Senapati was awesome and mirrored the first movie very well.
It had a similar scene when Bhallal's statue gets erected but the crowd cheers for Bahubali and they show Bahubali standing much taller than Bhallal's newly-erected magnificent statue, even in death.
