From the moment I heard the news, I knew she along with her family would spin it in her favor and mislead everyone into thinking she won an actual award. Not surprised, the woman was already delusional enough to think she was an Icon. 😆

all kangana's NA's are gone to the dogs now after sonam and akki getting awards.

never heard of actors getting special mention only after sonams family and friends making it seem as if she won best actress that these special awards where highlighted

we have had quite a few darn unbeatable actor/ actresses who have acted their hearts out i think that they should be also given those special mention. Harsh was like he knew she would get it- making it seem as if she won an actual award. how does one know another will get a special mention.

it just seems fishy wishy to me.

😳 Dear Zulekha & those who just do not get this: The Special Mention Award (notice how it has award in the name) is one. & nobody that ever got it would not celebrate.

Just ask Anupama Kher for instance: he received two, one for Saaransh in 1984 & another one for Daddy in 1990. & nobody is doubting his talent or his right to celebrate that he is indeed a national award winner

Since they are all shooting Padman together, he is btw, the one who explained to Sonam Kapoor the honour that it is to receive one:

Then maybe Anupam Kher misunderstood what Sonam has won and assumed it's the special jury award. It's NOT. Kher won the award similar to what kalki won last year.

Sonam has won what pari won for lvrb or something else.

It's fine she is happy but maybe even Sonam is misinformed by Anupam..

it clearly is a huge plus..it definitely means your performance was noteworthy..not every one would win the main NA..but for sonam who till 2015 was labelled a fashion icon whom no one ever thought would make it to any list in NA or any other ones..her getting this mention is a huge plus and a big fat accomplishment..

Founding out that Anupam jis Kalkis award & Parineetis awards are not the same. I honestly always thought they were the same, sorry about the confusion.

I did a bit of research today & I suspect that dear Sonam, as always useless when it comes to these things, confused his movies because he won the Special Jury Award a second time for Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara (2005), not Saaransh (1984) 😆 & it is quite possible that she was still confusing both prizes yesterday. Or maybe it is Anupam himself as you said. & wow, has he won many prizes in his career! 😲 It must be hard to remember every single one. 🤣

Sonam got the name right @ least, + she is celebrating this win as a team win, as always. Which is why iam still trolling people trying to act like it is not prestigious for actors to win this @ the National Awards hehe. A Special Mention Award sounds like a great prize to have, Parineeti is damn sure proud of hers & rightfully so! It is recognition for her acting. & that is something that any worthy actor craves.

& for Sonam who has been much maligned for her acting & was not expecting anything, it is a big win. Since the movie Neerja won BIG too, it must feel really special. Her dad Anil Kapoor is a 2 time National Awards winner no? I cannot imagine what he must feel. Iam not sure if they hand out the Special Mention Certificate on stage, but aww, what a lovely family moment to have ❤️

Some people here can't stomach that a Special Mention is also a high distinction seeing as not just anyone got it. That's why they try to lessen to lessen the impact of such an honor.

First they acted as if it was a consolation prize but when it was demonstrated that the Special Mention didn't fell in this category they were all about the Special Mention being awarded only to newbie 😆 . Then it was demonstrated that even big stars and expericenced actors got this honor... So now they are all about Sonam being unworthy of this honor. Bottom line, a hater can't be reasonned.

Now they are acting as if Parineeti and Kalki hadn't been congratulated the same way for their respective win when :

- Parineeti got her award back when actors and actresses were still making their first step in Bwood and then, Parineeti was only two film old.

- Kalki had been immensely congratulated and people were even trying to demean Kangana's win by saying Kalki's was more meaningfull. Also, Kalki isn't a commercial actress who's regularly talked about or offered big movies so she won't have have a big fanbase who'll talk about immensely of her win or lots of haters who will open threads to demean her award to try and pullher down.

Had it been an actress they appreciate, they would have been over the moon. 😆

This point only made this distinction such a big deal. It already is but here her hardwork and acting talent got validation by the NA jury along with so much other jurys in 2016 and 2017.

It's understandable that people are congratulating her like this when she also received some cutting comment by critics and some people alike. Let's not forget that her being very present on social and having grown up in the industy will have people congratulating her more easily on social media.

For her having who has always supported her and had to read (along with the rest of her family) all these cutting remarks, it's no wonder it's a great news. It made his day 😳
