It is unfortunate that the case has to be closed.
But as many people pointed out, people did not just make anonymous allegations. Many put their names out there and staked their reputation.Making a legal case is much harder though. It takes time and energy. It can be an emotionally draining ordeal. You have to bear the questions and accusations for much longer. Sometimes the investigators themselves assassinate your character.Nearly every woman faces misogyny, sexism or discrimination of some sort if not for harassment. Most of us say nothing, because the deck is stacked against us. We simply live with it and warn those who will listen. For all my feminism and women's rights, I myself have lacked the courage to stand up for myself on several occasions. It usually ends up as angry social media posts, texts to friends or a drunken confessional. I don't fault victims who stay silent. I admire those who have the courage.

I'll believe 50 people over 1. Most of those girls were not anonymous either. They gave their real names and put their reputation on the line.
It's not easy to go through with a whole legal case. It's extremely expensive and time consuming and if they work in the same industry, then they will face other problems too. I imagine many don't live on Mumbai either so traveling constantly to meet the police and go through a court case it also very difficult. They would also ask for proof. Molestation and harassment is very hard to prove because it happens privately when the two people are alone. So nothing would come out of it.
