Karan Johar: I've been at a shaadi when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else
Karan Johar talks about love and heartbreak and how Bollywood movies have a tinge of reality weaved to it.

From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, filmmaker Karan Johar has taken us through different phases of love and heartbreak. But, one always feels that romantic Bollywood movies are a tad bit too overdramatic.
When Karan was asked about his movies at the recently held India Today's Conclave, he stated that somewhere in movies lie our real-life scenarios. He said, "People say Hindi films are theatrical and dramatic, but somewhere its roots are in real life. I have been at a shaadi ka mandap when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else... When it happens to you, you feel like you can't get over what's happening to you."
He also said, "A happy marriage in the industry would really jolt me. I'd be like, 'You're a dinosaur, get out of here'."
When asked if he would be poor and have true love or be rich and single, Karan revealed, "True love goes away, lust takes over at times, so I would be rich and single."
In ADHM, Karan weaves a story on how to get over heartbreak. When asked in real-life on how to overcome heartbreak, KJo said, "Make your work your ambition. Not your love life."
Meanwhile, Karan is currently living the best phase of his life as he became a father to twins, Roohi and Yash.
While OK Jaanu did not live up to the expectations, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, under Dharma Productions is doing exceptionally well at the ticket window. Karan's next focus is on Baahubali: The Conclusion, whose trailer has created a storm and people are anxiously waiting to see the movie.
