What nonsense. BOI can spin whatever tales it wants, but Sunny Paaji felt betrayed by Yash Chopra because SRK had the more memorable role.

This is what he said in an interview.

Would you work with Yash Chopra again?
I'll never work with Yash Chopra again. He isn't a man of his words. I don't have good memories about him, he betrayed

Darr was a game changer for SRK. 20 plus years most Bollywood fans would immediately identify "Ki-Ki-Kiran" from Darr and it was because of SRK. It is one of the most iconic dialogs of Hindi cinema, sort of like "Kitne Admi The" is easily identifiable as Sholay. Darr is what it is because of SRK, end of. Sunny Paaji himself does not agree it helped him in any way or did anything for him so where does BOI come spinning its tales. 🤔

BOI writers were either not even born when Darr released, or they were under 10 😆

Let me tell you, Sunny was totally overshadowed by SRK's portrayal of the psychotic stalker anti hero.

Sunny was furious with Yashji when SRK took away all the credit and the praise and even got nominated for the Best Villain Award for Darr

I myself watched the movie 3 times in the theater for SRK only 😆

I think the OP means to say, Sunny Deol bought people to the theatres which is true as SRK was barely a star then while Deol was crowned the successor to Bachchan after Ghayal.

Yes, SRK had the more powerful role even if a shorter screen time. Sunny had nothing to do in the film except selling it on his star power.

No, SRK did not win any 'best villian award' for Darr. Believe it was Amrish Puri for Damini. SRK won it the next year for Anjaam.
