I agree with some aspects of her views on feminism. Feminism is an unfortunately misunderstood term. It has always been about equality. And equality means not putting anyone down.

I am a bit skeptical about her comments on male bashing and using feminism per convenience. These things can be interpretive. Sometimes criticising patriarchy and misogyny is often misinterpreted as male bashing. There is a difference. Sometimes people are blind to existing inequalities that when a woman fights for fairness they perceive it as a battle of convenience.

I am also curious why many people are dissing Deepika, Kangana or Sonam. I don't think they have ever said feminism was something other than equality. They have never encouraged biases against men. Why do people have a problem with them? Is it because they are sex positive? Is it because they are very vocal and outspoken? Is it because they do not hesitate to call people out? Funny how feminism is only acceptable when it is restrained. If it is in your face and assertive, then its not real feminism.

It's because men (and women engrained in patriarchy) basically dislike feminism and so create purity tests about what's acceptable, who's allowed to talk, what they're allowed be upset about, demand that they not "take advantage" of it and "misuse" it and not in any way make men feel responsible for the burdens women have had to face.

When you're used to privilege, equality feels like oppression. That's why feminism gets so much blowback.

I agree feminism gets a lot of hate due to misconceptions from both genders, and it promotes equality not matriarchy. But yes there are instances where due to being so used to misogynism people take equality as matriarchy ,that's wrong.Likewise I don't support manbashing just for the sake of someone being a man, example a post I saw on fb where they showed an image of irls eveteasing boys saying we're waiting fot this day.God no,eveteasing is wrong no matter which gender does it .
Anyone can be a feminist, be it a man woman or the third gender We all deserve equal rights and its high time women get their equal half.

Drop that mic, sista. Nailed it.

When people are used to nepotism, equality feels like opression. Which is exactly why people like star kids especially Alia and Varun will get so much shit because they lack the basic understanding of real world problems relating to nepotism and feminism.

I call myself feminist and I don't like when people try to use my word loosely😆😆 It's about being independent, respectful and NEVER become a doormat but I like sonakshi's take on this
