All I need now is for Sonakshi to do films that justify her take on feminism.

What does she mean by using it to your advantage? As if there's a fixed definition on what feminism really is. Definitions change with time and space that you are living in.Actresses are finally speaking against all the shit that has been meted out to them and they are using whatever platform is available to say the same. By giving a dictionary like definition and a strict boundary as to 'this is feminism..that is fake feminism', we are doing nothing but diluting their efforts in speaking up. And what will the actresses anyways gain by using feminism 'to their advantage'? Fair pay? No. A big budget film with her as the only lead? No. Respect within the industry? NO.(As some already suggested,if you feel victimised, leave the industry.)
The current batch of actresses has finally got the chance to speak out, the chance to express their freedom of speech and expression (irrespective of whether you agree or not, we anyways didn't agree with Salman's rape comment but nothing really happened), these actresses are choosing better scripts, taking bigger risks, producing films, creating campaigns on mental health and so many other things and here we are discussing yardsticks on what should be feminism and what shouldn't.

the pity is the BW current lot are people whose I.Q.level is close to poor...forget to the level of common sense...
and they become the spoke person of things which requires maturity of that subject which has zero connection to them...

I agree with some aspects of her views on feminism. Feminism is an unfortunately misunderstood term. It has always been about equality. And equality means not putting anyone down.
I am a bit skeptical about her comments on male bashing and using feminism per convenience. These things can be interpretive. Sometimes criticising patriarchy and misogyny is often misinterpreted as male bashing. There is a difference. Sometimes people are blind to existing inequalities that when a woman fights for fairness they perceive it as a battle of convenience.

I am also curious why many people are dissing Deepika, Kangana or Sonam. I don't think they have ever said feminism was something other than equality. They have never encouraged biases against men. Why do people have a problem with them? Is it because they are sex positive? Is it because they are very vocal and outspoken? Is it because they do not hesitate to call people out? Funny how feminism is only acceptable when it is restrained. If it is in your face and assertive, then its not real feminism.

Yes. Because of those reasons.People are expected to speak up but without offending anyone. We love diplomacy and expect people to be diplomatic at all times.Once you start taking names or cross the line, you become a villain of a desi soap opera.

A much more sensible view, listing out issues related to common women and not the foolish ones. She isnt being attention seeking, justifying her exposure, or bashing her parents and her self created enemies.

Good job Sonakshi.

People have lots of problems with feminism. It's a really sad state, the society is forever biased against women.

Problem is not with text book feminism, problem is with the feminism as per my convenience.
Problem is with certain group of women trying to force their choices/preferences on other women in name of equality.
Problem is hiding behind the feminism tag to cover up your wrong doing.
Problem is equating every criticism with sexism.
Problem is hating men for being men.
Problem is using feminism for selfish needs.
Problem is feminism not being about equal rights for woman but equal right for stupidity for woman.
Problem is asking for privileges just because you are female and because you deserve it.
Problem is using the actual woman who are suffering from sexism for your own benefits and then dumping them as per your convenience.
Problem is calling people regressive just because they don't agree with your views on independence.
And finally problem is instead of fighting against the actual basic problems faced by women in the world, focusing on trivial and futile issues which only a small elite portion of woman supposedly "suffer".
