The title of this article is a misrepresentation of facts and most people are harping on this twisted fact.
"Kavya (in the first film) is younger, more naive, simpler character. She has one aim in life, to get married, in a lehenga. Whereas Vaidehi (in Badri') wants to fly, Ashe doesn't want to only get married. She is a strong, mature, ambition driven, more feminist kind of character," Alia told the media here.
There is nothing that says that the character doesn't want to get married. It says the character doesn't ONLY want to get married. Nothing in Alia's quotes equate feminism to be anti-marriage.
The media has conveniently twisted the quote to stir the pot, and everyone is falling for it.
