Nope. Never heard of purdah? Forcing women to follow rigid standards in dressing is common in many south asian communities, regardless of religion. Criticising the practise is not Islamophobic. uscgirl clearly stated she didn't like "how woman are forced to cover". Forced. Not offended by women who covered themselves but hate those people who force women to cover their faces. There's a big difference.

If no one over reacts to sonams DRESS. The VERY purpose of her wearing it is DEFEATED.

How many days since Dishas dress caused uproar. Sonam doesn't read or follow media.

She LUSTED for same attention that's why that trouser and two frilly suspenders passing off for clothes.

There are limits to everything..boundaries..and we are not animals we need rules to not cross boundaries of social behavior.

If that frickin dress was acceptable, there wouldn't be a frickin need for your post. The photos would not be discussed.

And if you did post no one would DISAGREE with you.

I agree totally that whatever she wears is her choice and people shouldn't be commenting on it. It's her life, her body. Who even cares what she wears?

Nonetheless, this whole, "Indians are tradition, regressive," notion needs to die. It's a culture. India - being one of the largest countries and with the richest history in the world - has a culture. It's a feminist culture if anything.

I'm amazed how obsessed Indians are with English, America, and UK. It's shallow and shameful tbh.

On one side we have cultural custodians who will say how our country/culture is the greatest, how we had invented everything including aeroplanes in BC. On the other side, we have people who want to ape West in everything. Why is it so difficult? We are what we are, they are what they are.

Oh yes. Indians are too desi for the international and global iKaun Sodumb. I get it its your choice and blah blah but then its people's choice too to like/dislike your outfit. Its a two way street.

And itna hi problem hai toh apne papa ki tarah HW chale jao. Nobody will judge you in Amreeca.
