He comes from a wealthy family as far as I understand. I know he studied in America, grew up in Mumbai. The cliche is such people do not like Govinda movies or Anil Kapoor songs. For contrast look at Harsh, his tastes which are more HW and Woodly Allen (aka more "sophisticated" and the cliche) than his own father's masala movies which he is quick to distance himself from . Ranveer does not. He still seems over the top with Anil Kapoor and Govinda movies after all these years . I will admit, I thought it was an act. But his tastes have not changed over the years. He embraces Indian masala when others with his career and background mostly do not . To me, that is authentic. He has kept it up all these years. If that is PR creation, then give the munda an Oscar for he has acted quite well to be "authentic" 😆

Cougar: Just saw your post & JustMoi has already answered it. To clarify- He IS that but he isn't above using it to appear different hence I said "PR image". Not that it is an act entirely, he is very much the SoBo boy who adores Govinda & Anil Kapoor masala which by itself, is very rare.. For reference- SoBo is where all the wealthy, utterly spoilt brats live in Bombay. For further reference--- KJo is *absolutely* the quintessential SoBo boy. Extremely snooty, snobby & hates mingling with the "masses." RS is the anti-thesis of that. His command over just the Hindi language & the ease with which he speaks it, is delightful. You trace his IVs since his debut & you notice a pattern & yet, till now, that hasn't changed. That is what JustMoi means when she uses the word "authentic".
