It's foolish to compare Jolly LLB 2, a multiplex film with limited appeal to a full fledged massy film like Raees. Compare Jolly, Airlift, Rustom to Fan.

And we won't even get into Budget and the fact Akshay's medium budget films are shot in 40-45 days with 10 days of promotions or the fact that he comes 3 times a year.

In short, after Salman and Aamir, Akshays films are the most profitable ventures in the industry consistently and that is why he's the 3rd biggest star.

Raees was a dark thriller/with Massey songs. Full fledged massy film? 😆


And what has profits of films got to do with star power? We're talking about the actors here not producers. Shah is years ahead of Akshay. Look at the opening of any shah film, it dwarfs all Akshay films.

I dont know if raees actually covers under that typical Big Commercial film you are refering to, but I'l go with you for arguments sake. Raees mayb a holiday release bt it came with a clash which had a wonderfull blinding WOM 😆, n yes it had a hit song but how much does it really contribute? i dont think dangal had a hit song.
Now talking about srk's last two film, damn it I had to google, it scored 140 (approx) & 79, one flopped and the other was at best a Semi-hit (I think). So there you go, a semi-hit beating the highest best of Akki. And I dont want to bring in Overseas Figure, that would be such an embarassment for Akki. 😆
