Jolly LLB 2 Review Thread - Page 7

Jolly LLB 2 was below the mark on day one with collections of 11-11.50 crore nett as per early estimates. the collections are similar to Airlift released last year but Jolly LLB 2 has a far wider release. The film did do a bit better in the metros in the evening but it remained low at most centres.

It has managed good business in East Punjab and Delhi city while UP could have been better. Rajasthan and CI are average but circuits like West Bengal, Nizam / Andhra are dull with low collections. These circuits have recorded day one numbers that are lower than Kaabil and that film was not a solo release.

Its going to be about how well the film can grow on Saturday as a 40 crore nett weekend is a must for at least a respectable weekend and then a strong hold on Monday can give it a chance to get a good two week run. The film probably has better chances in East Punjab and Delhi due to a better start but these circuits scoring alone will not be good enough for this film. The Mumbai circuit will be all important and it will be crucial that this picks up very well over the weekend. It will be on Mumbai / thane and Pune city to do the work in the circuit as Gujarat / Saurashtra and the other centres of Maharashtra are unlikely to find favour with this type of content wven though it is star driven. .

Jolly LLB 2 had a good trend on Saturday as it showed growth of 35% to collect around 16.25 crore nett. This takes the two day total to 28.25 crore nett which overall for a two day total is just about decent but the trend on Saturday gives it potential to add well on Sunday and hold on Monday.

The growth on Saturday of the film is very similar to last years Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift as that film also showed growth of aroumd 35% but the collections on day one were also around 1 crore nett lower than Jolly LLB 2.

Jolly LLB did well in North on day one (barring UP) and continued to do well there but crucially it was Mumbai circuit which showed more growth. The first day was low in Mumbai but it went up by around 40% to have a decent day. The film is set in UP but the state did not do well on day on day one and single screens in UP remained low on day two but Lucknow where the film is set showed growth of nearly 50% on Saturday.
