lol, even I support India at the olympics but those are small things.

The hypocrisy is in constantly attacking actual Indian citizens because they're sometimes critical of India.

But then giving a fake desh bhakt image to a guy that ran to get Canadian citizenship and does not even vote in India. What right does he even have to make public comments about patriotism when he doesn't even participate in voting?!

As for movies, he can make whatever movies he wants because that's just a business. It's not even Akshay particularly that's the issue - it's the public that shows their hypocrisy when a guy like that is a desh bhakt for them but actual Indian citizens who are critical sometimes are traitors and compared to terrorists and told to go to other countries.

Funny how you missed all the patriotic Akshay stuff. It's not always news items either. It's whatsapp forwards, posts on facebook getting shared thousands of times in favor of actors like Akshay, etc.

And yes, certain other actors do face almost constant assaults not just from perverse politicians but the bhakt population of India too with the effort to tar them as anti-national, terrorist fans, told to go to other countries, and all sorts of stuff. The bhakt brigade even went on a rampage deleting an app because Aamir said his wife wondered about leaving to another country. When there's an actor that actually did run to another country for citizenship but no problem there at all.

If you're going to act like this happens because of any other reason than one, there's no point to argue.

I'm not saying what should be done or shouldn't be done. Just saying what actually exists and how hypocritical it is.

If the debate is on the whatsapp forwards and facebook/twitter shares, then there is definitely no point taking this forward...Because I personally don't consider these sources as any legitimate sources on which any arguments can be or should be based! 😊
