Pakistanis have a huge inferiority complex, especially the so called elite class. So i wouldn't put it past them to diss one of their own just to sound liberal, emancipated and kum-ba-ya-ish. Plus the Pakistani aunty brigade are the jealous sorts who would droll on the very average looking Fawad Khan but would diss a woman who is definitely prettier than them. So as the far as the Pakistanis with you who were dissing her are concerned, i am sure they were doing it to show you how liberal and open-minded and 'one of you' they are. I have seen a lot of those types.

And as far as expressions are concerned then even SRK reused a lot of his expressions. Everyone from Fawad to Saba to Amina whatsherface have the same expression and style of acting.

And its not even about praise its about the backlash that has me curious. Even Mawra with her squeaky voice and below-average acting didn't suffer a backlash.

LOL. I cant believe i am defending Mahira but here we are.

Lol they were no dissing her ...they just said that there wasn't anything special about her ( may be they didn't want to say anything anti raees while i was there 😆) and no they don't fit any of the description you said ...neither elite nor liberals or aunty brigade.

so anyone who doesn't like Mahira in Raees

If its an Indian
- Hates Pakistanis
- if they drool over fawad then i am assuming aunty brigade applies here too 😆

If its a Pakistani
- huge inferiority complex, aunty brigade jealous sort drooling over average fawad but diss a woman prettier than them, pretending to be liberal and open-minded 😆
🤣🤣
are you sure you are not a fan? you sound like a fan aka something is wrong with everyone who criticized Mahira in Raees 😲

In the promos as well as songs released prior to the release of the movie, I thought Mahira sucked. I went to the movie without expecting much or rather expecting the worst from her.
Having watched the movie though, I should say, I thought she was pretty ok. Nothing to rave about, but not as bad as I expected her to be. If the critics bashed her, I don't understand why. She had a small role and was not that bad. Who cares about critics anyways? 😆 I never pay attention to them.😃
