Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Naram Garam...seemed like a sad film in the beginning. But later it was one of the funniest films I have watched.

But did it really start off as a sad film?

I am asking this question because there are countless examples of comedy-to-tragedy films but not the opposite way around.

It does seem like a sad film from the initial scenes.

But Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar had a very tragic backstory towards the end (Mahima's father dying because of her mistake on her wedding day and her marriage being called off)

Also in Chup chup ke at the end it got quite dramatic when Shahid's father found out that he was still alive.
