Watch this and compare it with Arijit's version... It sounds like an ordinary song without that dard bhari awaaz in which Arijit Sang it... It sounds soulless..

He may be a good singer, but the problem is that he sings nearly every song these days and hence many people are bored of his voice.

arijit is good while looking at the current new lot of singers...though i guess arman malik is better ...but he is no way near to the greatness of 90's singers (sonu , udit , shanu) ...they had the voice to give life to any song ...arijit lack the power to emote according to the song ...plus as far as playback is concern no one from current singers can be called as a pure playback singers as neither of them suites any actor ...Srk sound so odd lypsynch arijit voice

arijit rendition of this sonu classic song "Panchi nadiyan pawan ke jhonke" is such a murder of classic , he can not render the proper soul , feel and expressions earlier songs had and the sole reason is arijit voice dont have melody ,,,.he have a harsh and husky voice texture

SANAM's cover of that song isn't very good. But he's done some amazing covers like Dilbar Mere. Listen to that. As much as I love Kishore Kumar & his songs, SANAM's version of Dilbar Mere is even better than Kishore Kumar's version. At least for me. But that doesn't make SANAM a better singer than Kishore Kumar. Similarly, Arijit singing Channa Mereya better than SANAM doesn't make him a better singer.

OT : Arijit has sung some amazing songs in the recent years BUT he's singing practically every BW song out there & I am bored of his voice. Not denying his capabilities, but overexposure bores people. We need more types of voices.

As for Arijit --- he sounds SAME in most of his songs, the boring sleepy heavy voice of his feels like he's dragging on with singing. I have enjoyed maybe 2-3 of his songs until now.

It doesn't feel his voice is "alive" in most of his (latest) songs.

I'd rather listen to someone else sing his songs, even if they are besura, I want to listen to something that feels like life, with a little emotion, with a little variation..

He has a very good voice, he must use it and learn to enjoy and play with his voice. 🤓

Music may be perceived differently, is subjective, so these are just my opinions.

PS --- For me it's not the question of overexposure, no, there was a time when Alka/Udit sung every other song, they were never boring. No, a beautiful song sung well, will always sound pleasurable... we may get bored with song but never fail to appreciate it for what it is.

He is a good singer but not versatile. And now I find his voice boring. I never get tired of listening to voices like Shreya/Sonu/Alka. I feel Arijit will go the himesh reshmiya way in the end.

His voice sounds so robotic, there is no change in tempo.

You can see the clear difference when you compare actors lip-syncing to songs of Udit/Sonu and even Abhijeet in the 90s' compared to Arjit these days.😆

I totally agree with Asha Bhosle's comment on Arjit's singing.

I don't think Arijit Singh is the best singer right now but he certainly is one of the most popular singers of this generation. I generally like Arijit's voice and I like some of his songs. He is talented for sure but he has limited capabilities in my opinion. A lot of different songs are sung quite the same by him. It loses it appeal for me. But that being said, I feel like not just him but a lot of today's singers don't have quite the range as say someone like Sonu Nigam.

Arijit himself is bored of his songs. I was watching his episode on kapils show and the guy was literally irritated when asked to sing his songs. His voice and mood instantly lit up when he was asked to sing an old melody of kishoreda. He sand title song of anamika with so much soul. So I guess it's simple boredom from him which shines through his songs n singing.
