When did the game change for Alia?

There is always that 1 movie that shoots the success of star to huge degree. When that one film brings the audience, fan following, admirers and market starts valuing them as a star.

Highway got her much praise. I think everyone started taking her seriously from Highway.

Game changer was definitely Highway. She had nothing to do in SOTY and her character was a total bimbo. I dint even take her seriously then. With highway, she proved that she can act. And with every film, she just keeps surprising you with her performance. She stood out even in a film like K&S where she dint have much to do. Her screen presence is terrific. N I do get the hype around her. She's one of the best in the business right now.But KJo promoting her is annoying AF. She doesn't need that kinda push now.

KJO can launch a lot of people, but it is an audience that ultimately gives longevity and it depends on what they are in for. For Alia, she did have a dream debut, but I think SOTY was a double edged sword where it was a ridiculous movie and she was not taken seriously. I think it is mostly KJO's fault in direction.

Highway was her turning point

Until & unless you don't will it & work hard for it, even Steven Spielberg can't get you heady success. Alia has this fire & drive in her ever since I saw few IVs for SOTY. I myself didn't take her seriously, but Highway was a total game-changer for her in a way that really made people stand up & take notice of her. I remember watching her RT IV, 2014 I think with both the PC sisters, and she spoke about how disheartened she felt with her reception after SOTY & how no-one spoke about her except as the glamour quotient of the movie. "And then I told myself ok, today they won't, worked on Highway & then thought, chalo! AB baat karo!!" There was such confidence & this irritation in her voice- She wanted this at any cost & she has the talent.. Success had to follow. She was very very good in Highway. That entire movie was excellent & really really effective! <3

Highway people started taking her seriously. She proved to be a natural performer who had a grasp over the most subtle human emotions.
