seriously. Rape is a well thought-out crime, not something that happens in a fit of passion, as these romantic dramas describe. Fatmagul is one show which properly shows how the victim is traumatised after rape for years and how it's impossible to fall in love with your own rapist. Storylines like Bay Khudi's have no place in this century.

A lot of my issue is with Pakistani and Indian shows is how regressive they are. It's unfathomable a show could potray such serious issue so lightly and that too showing such dispicable human being in a normal way.😵

I heard the worst are Spanish dramas...where women are treated like the disposable wipes..🤢

The telenovelas? Haven't watched one. From what you are saying, I guess I lucked out.

I wish they would stop romanticising rape and harassment.

Lokarns are really bad. I just watched the first episode. Saad felt so decent. Why did they turn towards rape. They could have easily turned this into women in love with another man who is dead. That second guy is dud.
Sara khan acts well but she needs a good stylist for this show. So much makeup on her face and what is with that red highlight. They looked bad.

I haven't watched that show but from the trailer it's apparent that the guy rapes her when she refuses to marry him.

Pakistani shows have become so monotonous that's its sad. Almost every show has the same backdrop story. Few months back, it was... 'two wives' concept trending, then came 'unconditional love' concept with those highly cliched dialogues; pyaare afzal, man mayal, mera naam yousif etc. and now this.

They don't make shows like humsafar, mera naseeb or ZGH anymore.

Yeah! Many people sympathize with the rapists in real life. They feel they were provoked 🥱

Fatmagul was the only sensible show where they showed her seeking justice and fortunately they never showed her husband as a rapist. Else, Indian shows too make the rapists as some people who need love from the raped victim.
