I read one review where the author said that Aamir so wanted to make sure that he wins Oscar this time for Dangal that he collaborated with Disney. Lobbying plays a huge part in getting an Oscar. Disney being an international brand, it'll be easy for them to lobby for Oscar.

it was Disney who approached Aamir for Dangal.
