I agree there is money issues.
for the same budget films are made the plots are lacking or uninteresting.
It seems the screen writers are just not being all that creative with some of the stories they are making.
Example.
There is a true story. A lake in the mountains where they found it filled with human bones. The people died thousands of years ago from blunt force trauma from above. Some say there was a hail storm that killed them. Others are not sure.
Also there is a legend of some mythical beast that throws rocks from the mountain on tress passers killing them.
If done well Bollywood could make an interesting psychological thriller about it that plays with the mind.
