My issue is not with men and women flaunting. Sex sells.
My issue is uncreativity.

I have noticed this for some time.
Look at all these guys with rock hard abs on TV and and film. Athletic bodies.

You think. These guys would be great for films that require athletic bodies.

Good films

Sci fi
Action
Spy
Epic Wars and empires of ancient times. Games of thrones
Wars and empires of today.
Superheroes.

But no. Its the generic love stories where they pursue a girl. They take off their shirt, flash their abs, and role around.

To put things in perspective.

A lot of guys like this making 'Okay Jannus' flashing their six packs.

Bollywood rarely makes these films that actually require athletic bodies.

@bold: this is not going to change.. you must seen or heard about the most hyped movies this year and none lived up to the expectations..

BW cares more about money... not about creativity.. not about trying something new.. they will recycle the same old formula "generic love story where they pursue a girl" to sell it and as long as public buys it.. it will continue to be sold! this is also the reason most production houses are shutting down... BW is getting lazier and lazier with scripts..

Bollywood is getting lazy.

Also I don't think some of those films were done well.

Otherwise the HW films of the same genre would be flopping as well. They don't.

I know Jurassic World did well
So did Bahubali

Mohenjo Daro could have been so much more than the crap Hrithik made.
It just seems most attempts for theses types of films are so poorly done. Not because audiences don't like the genre.

These films are just badly made.

An average HW action flick costs $200 mil to produce not including advertising as far as I know. How much is that in Rupees ? Does BW even have the budget for it ? Therein is one of your reasons IMO

It is chicken and egg situation. The hit -flop ratio is dismal. With too many movies flopping, producers are becoming conservative and are taking less and less risk. Leading to poor content. The Indian market is too varied. What works for one section may not work with other. And for movies with higher budget it needs to work with different groups. We need to work on our basics too. Rather than filming in foreign locales we need to work on indigenous technology to save money. Small things like using makeup artist from India helps save money. And yes Bollywood needs better writers and visionary directors. The time for searching for one's self is over.

Budget may be a main reason
