If Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's previous collaboration Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania had "Samjhawan" from Punjabi film Virsa, recreated. Their next Badrinath Ki Dulhania will see them shaking a leg at the popular chartbuster of the 90s Tamma Tamma a la Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. The song is from 1990 hit Thanedaar. Speaking to a leading daily, Tanishk Baagchi said, "We have retained the original voices of Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal but also added Badshah and a bit of rap. It's a peppy dance track with the music slightly altered to suit current trends."
Speaking about the film Varun Dhawan had earlier revealed, "This story begins with certain hardships the couple face before their love blossoms in Singapore". The film is shot extensively in Mumbai, Jhansi, Kota and Singapore. The song will be shot this week and will be choreographed by Bosco Martis.
Interestingly, another version of Tamma Tamma has been filmed on Vidyut Jamwal and Adah Sharma for their film Commando 2. It was reported that earlier the makers of the film wanted to AR Rahman's "Hamma Hamma" from Bombay for their film. But when they couldn't get the rights of the song, they decided to go with "Tamma Tamma". In fact the they have even wore the same costume wore by Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit in the original track and will be seen doing the same dance steps. So with Commando 2 (which was supposed to release on January 2017 and is now pushed to a March 2017 release) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, recreating the same song and both the films are releasing around the same time, it's sure to create a confusion among the fans. Now we just have to wait and watch who will take the cake and will create a better chartbuster among the two.
