Vidya balan is a freaking superstar! What a performance man !! She was brilliant in every scene , every shot, every single shot .. she was even brilliant while lying down without a dialogue! ..

All the support cast was excellent, Arjun was charming! .. The movie left a beautiful message and was very warm at the core .. the relationships strike a cord ..

I enjoyed it to the core .. just wishing it was not linked to kahani .. a beautiful movie!

Agree, the name of the movie should have been Durga Rani Singh. Since the movie had been names as Kahaani2, people expected the story, script, treatment... near about everything to be related to Kahaani.

The movie dealt with one of the most harrowing issues of all times, child abuse - something that has mostly been pushed under the carpet, especially if a family member is involved.

It is not only Mini as the victim of child abuse, but the repercussions of such abuse on Durga when she was a child. It was so heart rending when Durga says 'Duinya ko aur ek Durga ki zaroorat nahin hai...'

There is another underlying strain about how well do we know people around us? Even people who stay with us? That', I found, to be a real interesting angle.

Kahaani 2's given a respectable box office standard by many sites...i think people shld stop following that crappy site BOI for heaven's sake. Kahaani 2 shall now sail safely in terms of BO. Kudos to Balan and Ghosh

Is it? But I had heard his name as Inderjeet Singh and he sees her in the hospital and recognizes as Durga. When the past story begins she is introduced as Durga and in that bedroom scene with Arun she thinks of Inder and thats when I knew it is Arjun itself. So I thought everybody knew😆

Yes but I do agree they could show their past in a different way and keep the suspense.

Just watched the movie last night ---- I liked it --- thank god I was away or this thread would have ruined the suspense for me --- loll ---- it isn't as good as the first one ---- the suspense which first one created kept the momentum of the movie high till the very end --- that's where the makers went *wrong* with the second one ---- though they had a lot to play with & could have gone the same route to keep the suspense going ---- they could have kept Arjun & even li'l girl's suspense hidden to be revealed in the end only --- why didn't they do it --- ? *urgh* --- !!!!
All in all a decent attempt saved by acting & direction ----- li'l girl was too good of an actor to match up to Vidhya --- Vidhya was her usual good --- can't believe Jugal picked a role of a *pedophile* --- hats off --- the best part of the movie was the subject --- *child sexual abuse*, still a taboo to discuss -- good to see this subject get touched upon in the mainstream cinema --- let's wish parents learn a thing or two & no kid has to go through such trauma in his or her life ---- it broke my heart when they revealed the li'l girl was a victim of such abuse --- !!!
This movie is worth a watch for sure ---- even if not for the thriller component of it but for the subject it brings on the table --- *hope the movie does well* & the *Kahaani* series can continue --- 👍🏼

Kahaani 2 continued to drop on Tuesday after collections came down on Monday. The collections are now at low levels even in West Bengal and Mysore. It seems that the few fans the franchise may have had, have also rejected the film. Mumbai circuit has also dropped badly from Monday onward while North India was poor performer from day one. The rest never had any chance anyway. The way the film is going it will close the week at around 23-23.50 crore nett and then find it a struggle to hit 30 crore nett. The first week collections are likely to come in lower than Kahaani (2012). Below are the first five day collections of Kahaani 2.

Friday - 4,25,00,000

Saturday - 5,50,00,000

Sunday - 6,75,00,000

Monday - 2,25,00,000

Tuesday - 1,75,00,000

TOTAL - 20,50,00,000

I liked the movie .. I liked the locales .. OMG, for some reason Sujoy shows the real locations and some of them are damn awesome. Like you would want to visit or live in those small cities that no one ever talks about but they are sooo beautiful. Maybe they are beautiful because no one talks about them and hence, they are untouched.

The storyline was good too .. people may not talk about taboo subjects but that doesn't eradicates those subjects from the real world. It was a brave attempt to bring out the child sexual abuse story.

But I agree that they could have kept some suspense about a few more things.

Vidya and Arjun both acted well .. even the child actor was good. Jugal Hansraj did give those evil vibes. So, he acted pretty well.

So, overall .. the movie worked for me though it had the potential to be even a better thriller, only if certain suspenses could last until the end.
