Kahani 2 > DZ for me. However second half could have been better. Vidya was too good.

Just came back after watching the movie. What in the hell are people taking about? This was a great movie. Much better than the crapfest ADHM and the psuedo-intellectual Dear Zindagi. There was not much suspense (thanks to people here who ruined it for me) but the movie has its grip on you till the end.

You know I've been thinking of this movie sincei watched...especially the first half. Vidya was so good.

Yes she was. She was Durga Rani Singh. Not for one second did i think i was watching Vidya Balan. 👏

Kahaani 2 box office collection day 6: Vidya Balan's film earns Rs 22.71 crore

Vidya Balans Kahaani 2 - Durga Rani Singh was one of the most exciting sequels of the year and looks like it has lived up to the expectations of the people. The movie was released in a limited screen space of just 1235 screens, but still it has been able to have a decent run at the box office. Till yesterday, Kahaani 2 had collected Rs 20.97 crore. On day 6, the movie managed to add another Rs 1.74 crore, to take its total tally to Rs 22.71 crore after 6 days. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the detailed collection, "#Kahaani2 Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 5.79 cr, Sun 6.93 cr, Mon 2.04 cr, Tue 1.96 cr, Wed 1.74 cr. Total: Rs 22.71 cr. India biz."

Kahaani 2 is the sequel to the 2012 thriller - Kahaani. Everyone had loved the prequel and while a majority of the audience still enjoyed Kahaani more than Kahaani 2, they have liked the latter as a standalone film. In fact, the movie received good reviews from both the critics and the audience. A positive word of mouth publicity also helped the movie grow over the weekend. However over the first week, the film has seen a decline and Kahaani 2s run at the domestic box office will mostly end once Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor's Befikre releases.

The ensemble was great.

She was freaking awesome with her body language. How caged she was when it came to receiving affection... resultant from the scars of her own abuse during childhood. Her lack of "makeup" and costume gave so much credibility. Plus, how she would jump each time her BF would touch her. The trauma in these formative years does impact your psyche. The team got it so spot on here.

I also liked how the camera followed her (great cinematography) when she would visit the young Mini at her palatial house. There was restlessness as she wanted to confirm her doubt and how she would like to ask her the question. I loved the scene when she finally has the difficult conversation with Mini using gestures. SO WELL DONE and how her heart sinks when her doubt is confirmed!!!

Also the scene where she sits in the dark in her locked apartment and not saying goodbye to her BF... you could witness her emotional vulnerability. Fine acting moment! 😭

I know it is a taboo topic to discuss with growing up kids. But with public service announcements and with the help of school curriculum, kids (of both sexes) from younger age have to be taught what is accepted "safe zone" touching and what is not. Also the need to speak and run. Most of such things happen at home within the normally perceived "safe" boundary of familial relationships.

I will watch this movie again when it comes out on Netflix/DVD etc, to critically analyze her performance further😳.

Vidya, you have my vote for Best Actress! Muaah. Fortunate to be in the generation where I get to witness your unadulterated talent. Stay blessed, woman and NEVER EVER ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT OF LEAVING. You're above BO success. I will gladly watch your "flop" films with fine work any day over an ATBB that have a creative satiation span of instant noodles!
