After the Uri attacks, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is doing everything he can to help the men in uniform and their families. The buzz among the families of soldiers is that he is turning out to be a messiah for many of them, who haven't got any financial support after losing their loved ones who were away from home, fighting for their country.
Last week, three army jawans were martyred in an encounter with suspected ULFA terrorists near Digboi in Tinsukia, Assam. N K Narpat Singh was one among them, he left behind his wife and three daughters. When this news reached the actor through his friends in the army, he immediately volunteered to help. Not only did Akshay speak to N K Narpat Singh's wife and offered condolences, but also supported her financially by transferring Rs 9 lakh in her account.
Even though the actor has a hectic schedule because of his shoots in different cities and countries, he is in constant touch with his friends in the army and police. Akshay has told them to keep him posted on cases that require his help. He had earlier ensured that he will do his bit and he has kept his word.

This is not the first time Akshay has stood by a martyr's family. In October, he donated Rs 9 lakh to martyred BSF jawan Gurnam Singh's family.
