No other actresses were working while they were pregnant because most take a break even before they get to that part.

I think Kareena is being normal. The fact that people are praising her for something so basic goes to show the sad sexist nature of bollywood.

Ur post reminded me someone from my village who gave birth in farms where she was working at that time. Also my grandma giving birth to my aunt just after bringing water from well.

that's besides the point. I dont know why they are bragging abt her working before and after that. Many do. and frankly it depends on the health of the woman not on her wish. My sister wanted to work till 8th month but she cudn't becoz her health didn't allow becoz of twin pregnancy. It doesn't mean she is not as amazing as any other woman who works till her last moment.

It's a given that women work during pregnancy.

The difference? Bollywood

Bollywood is a visual medium, a superficial platform where one's LOOKS and APPEARANCE are part and parcel, how many actresses continued to do photoshoots, appearances?

Sure there are numerous doctors, lawyers, house helpers, engineers who continues working throughout pregnancy. That's not being denied.

She's being called the first as an ACTRESS. No point comparing her to people who aren't in the visual medium. Coz it's a norm. Done. Lots do it.

Rare in bollywood.

The point is, in an industry where the males continue being sex symbols and objects of desire into their 50s, the girls get put up into a shelf as they get married.

Even fewer continue to be desirable after child bearing. Rani disappeared post pregnancy. Aish took a long hiatus.

Kareena is one of the FEW A listers who has continued her glamorous image a tag in her late 30s, married, and now pregnant. There's a reason the media is lapping this up.

Coz it hasnt been done before by an A lister.

Someone will mention a Raveena Tondon at some point of her already faded career, or a Konkona. Those girls don't make headlines.

They weren't the Rani's, the Aish, the Kareenas.

Kareena is the first A lister who stayed in front of the limelight and maintained her glamour quotient, intact, amplified it, during her pregnancy. From the covers of the biggest magazines, to the shows, to being showstopper.

She's done this very strategically. So far, whatever she's done in her life has really helped her. She's maintained her position in the industry as an A lister. Refuses to fade away. So I for one am intrigued to see how she continues this as well. I wanna see her maintain her current pace and position, pop out a kid, and keep going. No slowing down.

Likewise she is also doing her job as an actress..what is wrong with that? N other point, she is being quite daring by being out in the public eye throughout her pregnancy admist all the attention associated to weight, looks and style in that industry..at times when other actress shy away frim the media because of the changes to their body due to pregnancy Kareena is simply embracing it unapologrtically! Kareena Kapoor Khan has been a star like many others. But, she is definitely the first one with a proud baby bump.

Kareena is not "Game changer" in pregnancy. I don't like her statements on how pregnant women are not proud of their body. I have never seen a women who doesn't enjoy her pregnancy and bump.

I am sure there are many women in glam industry who walked the ramp with bump. I remember Carol Gracious . There may be many more examples.
Fashion wise, Kareena has been very good. I give that to her.

The three Khans today are not sex symbols lol.

If they were not famous and did not have large fanbases and you put them against younger guys.

They won't stand a chance. Only the media and their fans hype them as being so.

Quite ironical that a lazy bum like bebo worked very hard throughout the pregnancy 😆 guess the insecurity gave her the push. But I like the way she carried her pregnancy style! Her stylist did a great job.
